Today we have benn learning the names of some 3D shapes. First we named the shapes then we had to sort the everyday objects.

This week we are learning about shapes. Today we have been working as a team to sort 2D and 3D shapes.

We have been studying the work of Picasso. We found out Picasso is an abstract artist. He uses lots of colours and shapes in his pictures. Year 1 used crayons and worked in groups to create their own Picasso style pictures.

Year 1 were very lucky to have a tennis taster session from Robin Park. We worked in teams and practised our basic travelling skills and skills using a tennis racket. It was lots of fun! Thank you Robin Park!

In maths we have been learning about addition and subtraction. We had lots of fun playing addition and subtraction board games.

In computing we have been learning about programming. We practised programming the Beebots and sending them to people in our group. We had to remember to clear the Beebot once it had completed each set of instructions.

Year 1 really enjoyed their trip to Liverpool Musuem to look at old and new toys. We made a toy timeline and we even got the opportunity to play with the old and new toys.
